We don’t bet on which chemistry winsWe build the architecture that helps batteries win
For decades, the battery industry has invested billions in chemistry and active materials, while the fundamental architecture of the cell has remained largely unchanged.
Addionics was founded with a different belief: the next major leap in batteries would come from changing their physical structure.
01Our story
A decade ago, Addionics Co-Founder and CEO Moshiel Biton was studying the formation of metal dendrites as part of one of the first research teams to observe the phenomenon through live video.
Looking at the complex metal structures as they formed, he asked a different question.
Today, Addionics has developed the first scalable, cost-effective, battery-grade manufacturing process for Smart 3D Porous Current Collectors. What began as a new way of looking at metal has become a platform technology for batteries of any chemistry, format, and application, improving performance while reducing cost.

A decade ago
What if this architecture could be used to improve the battery?
That question planted the seed for Addionics.
02Changing the battery from within
Traditional current collectors are flat, passive metal foils. They do not store energy, yet they occupy valuable space and influence how the entire cell operates. Addionics transforms this inactive material into a powerful performance enabler.
Our Smart 3D Porous Current Collectors restructure the cell from within, improving the movement of active materials, electrons, ions, and heat. This is more than an improved component. It changes how the battery operates as a system.
From inactive to active.
From metal to Smart Metal.

03Making a new architecture real
- Design
The potential of 3D metal structures had been studied for years. Today we use accumulated data and AI-driven design to adapt the architecture to each manufacturing process and application.
- Manufacturing
What the industry lacked was a battery-grade product that could be made at real scale. Addionics built the patented process that makes one.
- Integration
The same architecture goes into any chemistry and any cell format, using the integration work built alongside the process.
When design, manufacturing, and integration align, the shift becomes inevitable
